The wedding planning is coming along and time has been flying by lately – which means we are just that much closer to our big day, and we couldn’t be more excited! We recently hit a major milestone by sending out our save the date cards. I’ll be 100% honest, wedding planning hasn’t been my favorite thing. Finding vendors, reading over contracts, keeping up with deposits and invoices… it’s a lot of work. While I have found the wedding planning process to be more stressful than fun, I was truly so excited about our save the date cards!
We went with Artifact Uprising for our stationary and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. For once it was *finally* something that was relatively quick and easy. There was no contract, nothing to send to my wedding planner and/or parents for review, and placing our order was simple. We found a template that we both liked, uploaded our photo, typed in our information, and we were good to go. Plus, we were thrilled with the way our cards turned out!
In addition to getting our save the date cards out, here are some other things we’ve recently crossed off our list:
-We finished picking out all of our decor elements and placed our deposits to reserve our date. We still have a couple of other design related things that we are considering, but we have all of our rentals done.
-Our wedding website is up and running complete with a working RSVP system as well as information on a room block. Getting all of that done was surprisingly time consuming and difficult despite the fact that I’m pretty savvy with websites… Needless to say we are both really glad it’s finally all fixed up!
-We finished our registry! Austin and I have been thinking a lot about decorating our first place together lately. We both really like trendy decor and furniture but we also love mixing in one of a kind pieces that we find at antique stores, vintage shops, and Craigslist. We’re registered at a few of our favorite stores along with Zola! Zola has a great selection of traditional registry items, what we loved about it is that you can also choose to register for experiences or even create your own cash funds for things you can’t really register for at a store – like the hidden gems we’re after! We also created a honey moon fund for people to donate to.
*Use this link to sign up for a Zola account and you will receive a $50 credit when you receive $500 in gifts.
-We finally decided on a bakery to do our cakes! We ended up going with Sweet Treats. My cake will be vanilla almond and Italian creme, and Austin’s cake will be double chocolate and chocolate mint. Yum! So excited to dig into both cakes.
-I found bridesmaid’s dresses! I went to Bella Bridesmaids here in Austin and honestly was only there for about 15 minutes because I found a design that I loved right away. Next up is the bachelorette party!
