It’s been almost exactly three weeks since my last blog post and phew… Who knew time could fly by so fast? Between wedding craziness and jetting off to Maui for our honeymoon, we’ve been busy over here. But wow, what a wonderful past couple of weeks. I just want to live our wedding day over and over again! Although, I have to admit, I am very happy to be back home and settling into my normal routine again.
Brandon Hill, my photographer sent us over a few sneak peek photos from our big day and I figured what better way to kick off my very first post as a married woman than this! Planning this shindig was beyond stressful but somehow, some way it all came together. I shared most of my vendors various wedding update posts, but I have to gush a little more about a few of my favorites:
dress:
I got my dress at LeAnn’s Bridal in McKinney, Texas. I had actually randomly found the dress I wanted (and that I ended up going with) while scrolling through Pinterest awhile ago before Austin and I even got engaged. I have never really been the wedding obsessed type, but nonetheless I figured I may need some inspo one day so I saved the image.
Fast forward to last year around this time post engagement: I tried on dress after dress at a few different bridal boutiques in the DFW area and just couldn’t find the one because, well… I’d already found it! I kept coming back to the Pinterest dress so I figured out that the designer was Nicole Spose and learned that I would be able to order the dress from any boutique that carries anything from her line.
While I hadn’t found the dress on the floor at LeAnn’s they stood out above the crowd. Everyone that works in there was so incredibly helpful and nice. Plus they were so sweet and supportive about my blog. And, as it turned out, they were a boutique that was able to order my dream dress. So going with them was a no brainer! If you’re wedding dress shopping – this is the place to go guys.
hair & makeup:
I am pretty dang picky when it comes to makeup. Most of the time when someone does my makeup for me, I either end up fixing it up myself or just hating it altogether. In my entire 25 years of life, I have only worked with a small handful of makeup artists that I’d 100% trust with my face. So, when it came to book my makeup artist I had one person and one person only in mind: Angela Karr.
Like me, Angela is a native Wacoan. She did my makeup a couple of times while I was still in high school for a debutante event in town. I was so impressed with her, that even after 6ish years have passed I knew she was the one for the job. She also offers hair services these days as well, so she and her friend Dane took care of the hair and makeup needs for me, all of my bridesmaids, as well as my mom. So yeah. She rocks.
flowers:
You guys know I loooove flowers, so it should come as no surprise that they were an integral part of the wedding I envisioned. I knew exactly what color scheme and “look” I wanted and Alyssa from Color Theory Collective nailed it. One of the most frustrating things about planning a wedding is when you’re picturing something in your head then you try to describe it… but the vendor just isn’t getting it. I never had a single issue like that with Alyssa. I can honestly say that our flowers turned out even more beautiful than I had pictured them. Plus she’s super sweet and fun to work with!
venue & catering:
I haven’t shared a whole lot about my venue for safety and privacy reasons, but it was obviously a huge part of what made our day so special. We had our wedding right out side of Austin in Kyle, Texas at The Winfield Inn. Again, this was a situation where I kind of had an idea in my head about the look and feel of the venue but was blown away when I saw this place in person. I can’t wait to share more photos so you guys can see more of it! Fun fact, it’s the only venue we toured. The minute we pulled up to The Winfield Inn, I just knew it was the perfect spot.
The owner, Lesley, is super nice and he also owns an awesome catering business which is part of the package. At first I wasn’t super jazzed about being “forced” to go with a catering company without being able to shop around BUT after we had our tasting I was all in. In addition to being really into makeup and flowers… you guys also know that I am a huge foodie. I wanted to eat good at our wedding and I wanted our guests to enjoy as well! We got so many compliments on our selections and the staff was amazing. 10/10 recommend The Winfield Inn + Word of Mouth Catering!
