A couple of weeks ago I had a little staycation at The Westin downtown here in Austin. It was the first time I had ever stayed there and y’all I had a blast! While I did enjoy their comfy heavenly beds (that’s literally what they’re called and they truly are heavenly), rooftop views (check out this post), and convenient location what really blew me away was the food. If you haven’t dined at Stella San Jac… Let me just tell ya that you are missing out.
I had breakfast, brunch, and dinner there and I loved it all so much that Stella even made it on my list of current favorite restaurants. On Fridays Stella San Jac hosts their Fri-Yay brunch and offers $1 mimosas with the purchase of an entree. The chicken and waffles is where it’s at—but don’t forget to start your meal off right with some biscuits (ask for extra honey) and deviled eggs.
Dinner at Stella San Jac didn’t disappoint either! You guys… The short ribs were to. freaking. die. for. I’m not typically huge on short ribs but these were so flavorful and tender. My mouth is literally watering as I’m typing this. Pair them with the whipped sweet potatoes or the gratin potatoes… I can’t decide which one I like more. Save room for dessert though because the chocolate s’mores cake is #worthit. It’s warm and gooey with marshmallow topping and basically just tastes like brownie batter. It was love at first bite.
Whether you’re traveling to Austin or you’re local simply looking for a relaxing getaway, I’d definitely recommend The Westin. And if you’re just looking for a cool spot to eat, grab a bite at Stella San Jac. You won’t be sorry!
