My sweet friend and roommate, Rebekah, got married Friday evening at a beautiful venue called The Arbor in Tyler, Texas. Her wedding was perfect. The moment I got there, I thought wow… this is so her. It was an outdoor wedding followed by a lovely reception. The venue was kind of woodsy with lots of pretty flowers and shrubs. Of course I was there for Rebekah, but I couldn’t help but take advantage of the backdrop! Plus, I’ll be honest… I really love this dress. I found it awhile back at Anthropologie on a shopping trip to Dallas with my mom. I tried it on with Rebekah’s wedding in mind, but decided to wait on it. Sure enough, it went down in price and I was able to snag it. BUT, when I went to check out, my size was no longer available! I had to settle for a size up and then have it altered. Funny enough, this actually worked to my advantage. I’m right in between a 2 and a 4, but had to go with a 6 which gave me quite a bit of extra room. This really worked out because even though this design is really cute, it’s not the best fit. Because of the extra space, we were able to add in two extra darts in the bodice so it fit my body way better. I just love the colors in this dress. The green is so unique and different, and mixed with pink and purple hues, it goes well with my skin tone and eye color. I really think this dress would look great on anyone though! I recently have gotten more comfortable with dresses this length. I’ve been seeing a lot of dresses and skirts cut this way, and I think that paired with the right shoes, it can actually make us petite girls look taller! This hits pretty much directly below my knee. Paired with the strappy sandals, it really stretches my (short) legs out.
