Welcome to my first beauty post on my new site! Today’s topic is all things skincare because it’s really the foundation behind every beauty routine. Yes, even before your makeup! I love makeup just as much as the next guy (ok maybe more), but I cannot stress the importance of skincare enough.
A lot of people don’t start taking care of their skin until they get older and start to notice signs of aging. However, if you take care of your skin when you’re young I promise it will pay off when you’re older! Preventing is a lot easier than treating.
What I’ve done today is simply round up a few of my favorite skincare products. Some of these you can just go pick up at your local drugstore and others are more of an investment. I’ve linked everything up down below with a short description of each product.
Cleansing Water
Cleansing water is a newer product, and I have to say I was somewhat skeptical about it at first. I decided to give this Simple cleansing water a try over the summer, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. It really does brighten and cleanse your skin. I personally love using this after a workout or as a toner before bed.
Day Time Moisturizer
I have been using this Aveeno moisturizer for years and it never fails me. It has a nice lightweight feel complete with SPF 15. Moisturizing your skin after you wash your face and protecting it from the sun is a vital step in any skincare routine! I love that this product does both.
Sunscreen Powder
This is a newer item that I have only been using for about a month, but I can already tell you that I will be re-purchasing this. This mineral powder has SPF 50 in it and it comes in this handy packaging with a brush on one end. It’s the perfect thing to throw in your purse and use for touch ups throughout the day.
Eye Cream
This is a step that I think most people my age are probably skipping. La Mer is a high end line, but it’s worth every penny. If you use an eye cream now, you are taking steps to prevent wrinkles that inevitably will come later. Why not take some preventative measures? I’ve been using this eye cream for the past couple of years and haven’t looked back since.
Sunscreen
Yet another sunscreen product, I know. However, the sun can do a lot of damage! Appearance aside, the other issue at hand is skin cancer. It’s better to be safe than sorry. I love this sunscreen because like the Aveeno moisturizer, it’s really lightweight and doesn’t feel sticky on your skin.
Serum
This Drunk Elephant serum is another new product for me, but I really love it. When shopping for anti aging products at my age, I struggle to find things that aren’t too moisturizing. Too much of a good thing can wind up just making me break out. One of the active ingredients is glycolic acid, which not only helps prevent aging but also acne! That’s a win-win in my book.
Body Lotion
Moisturizing your skin is kind of a no brainer, but I used to skip this step quite a lot because I hated the greasy feel of lotion on my body. I found this lotion about a year ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. It absorbs really quickly and it has a really nice scent!
I hope that you guys will end up giving some of these products a try! What are your favorite skincare products?

I’ve been thinking to give this La Mer cream a try and probably I will, even though it’s quite expensive. Great products.

Some of these products I’m familiar with and have tried, while others are completely new to me, such as that SPF powder. I’ve been seeing a few brands floating around, but haven’t tried any myself, but have to because I’ve always hated the fact that there was no way for my face to remain protected from the sun when the SPF time wore off and I had makeup on! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have a great week ahead, beauty!
