I wouldn’t really consider myself a full on hipster, but I’ll admit to having some hipster tendencies. Enter this hat. Hats are everywhere this fall. Floppy hats, fedoras, boatersthey’re all in. And they’ve been a thing for awhile now. I’ve resisted the urge to jump on the hat bandwagon, but I finally caved this past weekend. I had been searching for one that was decent quality but wouldn’t break the bank. I found this one at Nordstrom for around $50 (hats are expensive y’all!) and knew it was a keeper. I’m generally not much of a hat person, but I love this look. The hat just really ties this whole ensemble together.

As for the rest of the outfit, I’ve had this black leather bustier for a couple of years now and it is hands down one of my favorite pieces in my closet. It looks cool all by itself, but I’ve also used it as a layering piece under sheer tops or dresses. It’s real leather so it was pretty pricey, but it’s very versatile. It’s one of those investment pieces that I’d say I’ve definitely gotten a lot of wear out of. If you’re not down to pay for real leather, you can still achieve this look with something faux! It may not last quite as long, but it’ll still get the job done.

My lightweight jacket is from Forever 21 so it was really affordable and such a fun piece for fall. It could easily be worn in the summer as well since it’s sheer, so it’s perfect for our kinda weather here in Texas. I also love the color! It’s a big one for the season and makes for a great accent. I got it within the past month, but can’t find it anywhere online. I’m seeing lots of jackets in this style though so I’ve linked up some similar looks below.

These jeans are actually on sale right now so I highly recommend taking advantage. Frame is one of my very favorite brands when it comes to denim. All of my Frame jeans are super high quality and another one of those pieces that will last you a long time. They’re not cheap so if you’re looking for a solid go-to pair of jeans be sure to snag this pair while they’re marked down!

I’d love nothing more than to be posting about coats, boots, and scarves right now. For obvious reasons this just can’t happen yet. Right now it’s all about adding in pops of fall where you can to stay cool, but still seasonally appropriate. We Texas gals can’t quite go full on fall just yet, so we’ll have to bide our time with some of these pieces. A leather top, a light jacket, a good pair of jeans, booties… Mix and match to your heart’s delight. And of course, don’t forget the hat.
