How groovy is this dress? I am super excited to share this post with y’all because as you all know by now, I’m really into the 1970s. This dress totally captures that retro feel that I love. It’s also such a fun mix of two of my very favorite colors: purple and turquoise. Just looking at it makes me happy!
Actually wearing this dress also makes me happy because it is extremely comfortable. It’s a loose (and flattering) trapeze cut so it’s very breezy. The fabric is also really stretchy and smooth against the skin. There is even a cute keyhole cutout in the back! Additionally, I love that it has three quarter length sleeves because lately it hasn’t exactly been feeling like fall outside. Thanks Texas.
I do still like to look the part for fall even if the weather doesn’t always cooperate, so this dress with a fur vest is perfect for those warmer days. The fur works with the retro vibe that I was going for and gives a little fall texture to the outfit without making me too hot. To keep this retro theme going, I added these round sunglasses that I got from Forever 21 for just a little under six bucks. Such a bargain!
Like I mentioned, purple is one of my favorite colors. Specifically, shades of wine or burgundy. This color family is big this season and makes a great accent. I got these Sam Edleman booties at the beginning of fall in ‘sangria’ that just so happened to match perfectly—another added bonus of this dress because these booties are as comfy as they are cute. AND they’re on sale right now at Nordstrom!
