A good quality leather jacket is one of those investment pieces that will last you a lifetime. No matter what your personal “look” is, a leather jacket is a staple for virtually everyone. It can be dressed up or down and it never goes out of style. I chose to dress mine down for a grunge inspired outfit by pairing it with a graphic tee, jeans, and Converse sneakers.
As I mentioned, a quality leather jacket will last forever. However, leather can be really expensive. If you’re not down to drop that kinda money, not to worry… You have options! Faux leather jackets are typically much more affordable plus they’re animal friendly. A cheaper one may not last you as long, but you can still get the look without having to go hungry (college budget probs). I have one similar to mine linked up down below from Forever 21 that retails just under $50.
The exact leather jacket that I’m wearing is from a couple seasons back, so it’s no longer available. There is one from the same brand from this year that is very similar, but it retails close to $1000… Which brings us to option number two: resale shops. I got really lucky and got this real leather Vince jacket for less that $100, and it was in perfect condition. If you don’t want to sacrifice quality, but you’re looking for a bargain, start digging around local resale or vintage boutiques. You never know what you might find!
