Heavenly is the first word that comes to mind when I think of my stay at The Adolphus. Recently my mom and I took a trip to Dallas to pick up my wedding dress. I got to try it on in the correct size and adjustments for the very first time, so this was a special trip for us which called for a special place to stay and celebrate! As you guys know, I travel around quite a bit and have stayed at a myriad of different hotels. While all of the hotels that I feature on here are great, The Adolphus was especially nice. Read on to see why it might just be my new favorite hotel:
I am all about food, and The Adolphus boasts not one but two incredible restaurants on site along with a coffee shop. The first night we dined at City Hall Bistro for dinner. We started off with a few appetizers and right away I knew this was going to be one amazing meal! We had the charcuterie (of course), the hummus, and the crispy halloumi cheese (think fancy cheese sticks… so good) all of which I’d recommend. We ordered a bottle of wine that our waiter requested as well which was a lovely addition to our meal. We decided to go with a three course meal that’s currently being offered which comes with a salad, a main course, and dessert. We had the scallops and the lamb for our main courses and ended with ice cream cookie sandwiches. Everything was so good and we definitely left extremely stuffed!
The second night there we toyed with the idea of going out for dinner, but after a long day of shooting photos we were worn out and decided to hang at the hotel. Boy, am I glad we did! We booked a reservation at The Adolphus’ second restaurant, The French Room, and called it a night not knowing that we were in for such an incredible treat. We walked in and I instantly felt as though we had stepped onto the set of Beauty and The Beast. It was truly one of the most stunning restaurants I have ever been in and a dining experience like none other.
Everything was served European style in small courses and my mom and I also added in a cheese course. I took one look at the selection and being a cheese enthusiast I knew I had to make some room in my tummy for their wide assortment! We ate so much that the whole meal is one big, beautiful blur. But, the star of the show was definitely the chocolate souffle that I had for dessert. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, they rolled out their table of house made candies, cookies, and cakes. We’re talking homeade caramels, gummies, marshmallows… You name the sweet and they had it/we ate it!
Of the two restaurants, The French room is fancier and quite a bit more expensive. If you’re a pickier eater, I’d say to save the money because you might not enjoy everything. However, if you are a fellow foodie… Welcome to paradise.
In addition to the two amazing restaurants and the cutest coffee shop, The Adolphus also has a pretty pool area with a bar and plenty of places to lounge. We headed up our second day there and got to relax for a bit. We also enjoyed just hanging out in the room in the cozy hotel robes! The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The concierge was also kind enough to send up a bottle of sparkling rose and some house made sweets for us one afternoon! Furthermore, the convenient downtown location simply can’t be beat. Overall the chic yet relaxing ambiance of this historic hotel is not to be missed. I will most definitely be back!
What a charming hotel. Their food looks amazing! I’d love to try those scallops, looks really good.
