I always love a good staycation! Although, Lakeway Resort & Spa doesn’t really feel quite like the Austin I’m used to. It’s about 45 minutes from downtown nestled right along Lake Travis – just far enough from the hustle and bustle, but not so far that the many activities and restaurants in central Austin can’t still be experienced. Personally, I enjoyed a nice quiet retreat. With a delicious restaurant serving up breakfast, lunch, and dinner right on site, a bubbly happy hour, spacious and comfortable rooms, and a relaxing spa… There was really no need to leave!

You guys know I’m really into food… And to say I was impressed with the meals I had here would be an understatement. The setting is perfectly casual and comfortable in typical Austin fashion, yet there’s definitely an upscale ambiance. And the service was excellent! I had dinner on property the first night and ordered the scallops for my main course, but naturally had to start off with a yummy charcuterie board. I finished things off with slice of the white chocolate cheesecake for a very satisfying dinner. My mom was with me and she had the filet and the strawberry shortcake which were also delicious! Check out the rest of the dinner menu here.

We came back the next two mornings for the breakfast buffet that was equally as satisfying as dinner. For only 20 bucks you can have your choice of nearly any breakfast item imaginable plus complimentary coffee, milk, and juice. In addition to the yummy dinner and breakfast, there’s also an awesome happy hour! The bubbly happy hour is held daily from 4pm-7pm and on Friday nights they also have a wine showcase 5pm – 6:30 pm. Lastly, the happy hour food menu also boasts some great deals on drinks and you can get my charcuterie board for only $7!

Unfortunately since I was here during the winter time, I was unable to utilize the pools but I’ll definitely be back during the summer! There’s an adult only pool, a kid friendly pool with a water slide (although let’s be real, I’d still be all over that as an adult), and a hot tub – all with a beautiful lake view. Lakeway also has a full fitness center that is close by the pool area as well, so I was able to get a workout in while I was here in an attempt to burn off all of my dinner/breakfast calories!

Last, but certainly not least, I have to mention the spa. The last day I was here I got a massage and it was the perfect ending to my stay. Admittedly, I have only had a few massages in my life, but the one I had here was the best thus far. The setting was also extremely quiet and relaxing – which is exactly how I’d sum up my entire stay here at Lakeway Resort and Spa.
