You guys! It’s finally starting to feel like spring and that has me so excited because—you guessed it—spring clothes. I recently found this Free People boho outfit and y’all I am obsessed. The wide leg pants are so comfortable and also extremely flattering! Is it just me, or does Free People kill it during the spring?!
I wore this matching set to the Thrive Creative Conference this past weekend and got so many compliments. Real talk though… one of the straps came off within about 10 minutes of my arrival and then later that day I also tripped, nearly fell down a small flight of stairs, and my shoe flew off in the process. I tell this story for a few reasons:
- This outfit is so so cute, but if you’re 5’3 (or under) like I am… You might want to have the pants hemmed before you attempt stairs.
- Make sure the straps aren’t too tight. This honestly goes for any spaghetti strap top so this was kind of a rookie mistake… I didn’t really feel like they were, but when I reached to shake someone’s hand that’s when I felt the strap pop. I checked to see how it was constructed (gotta put that fashion design degree to work every now and then) and I truly don’t feel like the quality is that poor. I think it was kind of a freak thing because #mylife.
- Social media only shows the best version of everyone. Would I ever post a photo of me tripping and falling in these wide leg pants that were slightly too long for me? Probs not. But, shit happens to everyone even if they don’t plaster it all over Instagram. In the moment I couldn’t help but consider the irony of the fact that it happened while I was attending a blogger conference. Lol @life.
Moral of the story? Even though this outfit basically failed me in every way possible short of ripping right down the middle, I still love it and had to share it with y’all BUT I had to keep it real. I don’t want any other petite girls falling down a flight of stairs… The things we do for fashion, right?!
