Long time no blog, right? I’m happy to be back at it. I’m sure some of y’all have been wondering where I’ve been, why I stopped blogging for awhile, why I have a new site, etc… So I’m just going to jump right in.

Knowing yourself and staying true to who you are is the most important thing when it comes to blogging. Over time I found myself glued to Instagram looking around at what other bloggers were doing or wearing. I got so caught up in it that eventually I felt like I had lost sight of my own style.

As someone who has always taken pride in being an honest, authentic person this felt completely wrong and I hated it. I didn’t feel proud or happy with the content that I was producing, which entirely defeated the purpose of having a blog in the first place. 

Upon this realization, I decided I needed to take some time to hone in on myself and my style. I hit pause on my blog and stayed off of social media for the entire summer. In addition to that, I also had the opportunity to intern for The Darling Detail where I was able to learn a lot about telling my own story.

That being said, I’d like to welcome everyone to my very first post as The Trendy Tomboy! What better way to kick off my new site than with a comfy floral romper and my favorite sandals? Shop some similar looks down below!
