Hi, I’m Rachel!

I started The Trendy Tomboy while I was in school at The University of Texas for fashion design. At the time, I really didn’t know much about blogging as a career, but since high school I had always been the go-to guru for outfits and makeup advice.

So, I figured why not make a website and a social media account I could send people to for all of my tips and tricks?

Growing up I was a total tomboy, but I’ve always been a creative brain. I loved sports, hanging with the guys, and frequently dressed in boy clothes. Once I hit middle school I started to feel more pressure to dress like a girl and maybe wear some makeup. I quickly learned just how creative fashion and makeup could be and I’ve been hooked ever since. However, I am still a tomboy at heart – which is why I decided to call my blog The Trendy Tomboy!

As I’ve grown up over the years, The Trendy Tomboy has become more of a lifestyle blog that combines all of my passions – including the more tomboy ones. In addition to my fashion design degree, I also also a NASM certified personal trainer and a Precision L1 nutrition coach. I love to run fast and lift heavy! I currently teach group fitness classes and help individual clients achieve their health and fitness goals through customized training and nutrition plans.
Long story short, these days I don’t just talk fashion and beauty! I also post lots of fitness, food, and whatever else I’m up to. My goal is just to keep it real and hopefully help a few people along the way.
