How gorgeous is this romantic maxi dress? I know, I know… I post a lot of floral dresses. While I do love me a good floral print, surprisingly, the print is actually not what drew me to this dress for onceā€”it was simply an added bonus. Rather, what really caught my eye was the way it was made.

In college (I was a fashion design major), I became well versed in the construction of garments. I learned all about the elements of design, different sewing techniques, fabric choices, and how all of these things together make up the value of a piece of clothing.

This dress retails for $168, and I’ll be honest; that’s more than what I normally spend. I typically focus on trendy, fast fashion pieces on here but every now and then I do think it’s nice to splurge on a well made garment like this one that I know is going to last.

It’s the little details that I believe set this floral frock apart from the rest; the delicate covered buttons in the back, the feminine hook and eyes down the neckline, and the flowy tiered skirt just to name a few. Furthermore, this dress is fully lined and fits like a glove. Grab one for yourself down below!
